Chocolate Chip Scone Recipe

I made Chocolate Chip Scones today. They turned out pretty well, so here is the recipe...



Chocolate Chip Scones

Ingredients:

2 cups all purpose flour (plus enough to lightly dust counter/use for kneading)
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar (plus enough to lightly cover scones before baking)
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate morsels
1 1/4 cup (minus a tablespoon) milk 
1 tablespoon white vinegar
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted



Preheat oven to 425 degrees. 
Line a cookie sheet (or 2) with aluminum foil. 

In a measuring cup, put the tablespoon of vinegar. 
Fill to 1 1/4 cup with milk and stir.
Let sit for at least 5 minutes before using.

Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until completely combined.
Stir in morsels.
Use a fork to stir in the milk/vinegar mixture. 
It will get extremely sticky. 
Keep stirring until it pulls away from the side of the bowl.

Lightly flour counter top and lay dough on top. Lightly dust dough with flour. 
Knead the dough, turning at least 10 times.
Spread out with fingers into a 9-10" circle.
Brush lightly with butter. 
Sprinkle sugar onto butter.
Using a pizza cutter, cut into 8 equal pieces (just like you would a pizza).
Place onto cookie sheets at least 1" apart.

Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
